Jordan Buckley plays guitar for a band called Every Time I Die (a hardcore punk 'n' roll band from America) and this is the album artwork for their 2009 album New Junk Aesthetic, which really is EXCELENT but the cover artwork aswell as the artwork in the liner notes demands some attention and severly due credit too, so here they are! lyrics and all...
I think theyre screen prints over ink splashes, but im not entirley sure as it doesent say in the album credits.
First of all i am going to apologise for the awfull
photographic quality of these images, i have no money for a decent camera, so nasty, grainy, grey-ish photos shall have to do, untill i stumble across a Leprechaun (the hunt has begun) or get adopted by a million heir and then can afford a good camera. but bad quality pictures are better than no pictures right?
Well here they are anyway!!
This is where i have lived since the age of about 2 or 3 and the opening sampling of Lost by Neurosis did get me thinking, most of my powerfull childhood memories are based in this part of the village i grew up in, well i supose im still growing up but do we ever stop growing and evolving to an extent? Well thats besides the point i guess.
Here are some of my paintings and drawings of the place :)
Last Thursday, my college took the entire art department on a trip to London, to viset the Saatchi Gallery and The TATE Modern for the Gerhard Richter exhibition. the Saatchi was brilliant, i really enjoyed its curious ways, especialy the sculptures and many of the paintings.
Here are some of my favorate peices from the Saatchi Gallery....

WOW, what an experience theres SO much stuff there i'll never begin to be able to list, find or explain in any detail, so many wonderful paintings, especially the cubist exhibition (lots of Braque, Picasso, Gris), lots of installations and sculptures, i could spend months there, getting to know each and every piece.
The Gerhard Richter exhibition was phenomenal, i never apreciated his work having seen much of his work in books, magazines, websites and album covers (Sonic Youth's Daydream Nation) but in the flesh, his work is so powerfull, partly due to the scale which also lends the detail no photograph could.
These are drawings in response to the land of which land i have lived upon all my life.
No matter what people think, or how much people pay and protest, this earth shall never be owned by any man, meerly the etherial right to work it.
I'm a rural chap, so im surrounded by feilds, panoramic views , vast valleys and a LOT of mud... so yeh, heres a couple of ideas im working on. I'll put the evoloutions up soon enough.
