I've been making noises...
These are some sound experiments I have been working on.
Think of them as sonic sketches if you like,
just ideas that were floating around my head.
Apologies for the poor recordings, I did them in my bedroom DI after my pedal board into my computer. And if I'm totally honest, I don't really understand the whole EQ-ing process so completely avoided it.
I would urge you that if you listen to a song, listen to it in its entirety, as with most music, it makes
more sense that way...
This first one is quite an ambient post-rock sound-scape with lots of layers of guitars.
Ok, here things venture away a bit from the ambience of the last one into a bit of Drone and a genre referred to as Noise... because people often describe it as that. Its a just synth-scape and a bass, you may need good headphones to keep up with some of the frequencies of these next 2, but you have been warned about loud noises...
Even noisier droning guitars (just two layers with my Telecaster), based on those semi-concious moments, drifting in and out of sleep and being disturbed when not entirely concious, sensations of falling and clawing at those last few seconds you're in bed to try and keep hold of them forever. Dreams you fail to take back. I'm sure we've all been there. enjoy! (or hate it, either is good)
I've also been associating these sounds with images. I'm quite fond of textural
photography and have been doing a lot of it recently.
These photos weren't created entirely to suit the music, nor they other way round,
but I feel that the images in each video match the personality of each song that I have
chosen for them to accompany.
(just noticed blogger is compressing the files further because it wouldn't let me upload straight from my Youtube which you can find HERE )
Thanks for being on my blog.
Thanks for reading this or just looking at the pictures.
And if you bothered to take the time to listen to a song in its entirety, congratulations on becoming awesome.
