Now.... onto The Tate...
WOW, what an experience theres SO much stuff there i'll never begin to be able to list, find or explain in any detail, so many wonderful paintings, especially the cubist exhibition (lots of Braque, Picasso, Gris), lots of installations and sculptures, i could spend months there, getting to know each and every piece.
The Gerhard Richter exhibition was phenomenal, i never apreciated his work having seen much of his work in books, magazines, websites and album covers (Sonic Youth's Daydream Nation) but in the flesh, his work is so powerfull, partly due to the scale which also lends the detail no photograph could.
so here are a few fantastic paintings of his...

More Music: Neurosis, The James Cleaver Quintet

The music some bands/artists create is beyond inspiring and can have dramatic effects upon my work, changing the mood, rythms, textures and colours.
so heres something incredably brilliant:

"Are you lost?"
"Yes."
"Because we don't know when we will die, we get to think of life as an inexhaustible well, yet everything happens only a certain number of times, and a very small number, really. How many more times will you remember a certain afternoon of your childhood, some afternoon that's so deeply a part of your being that you can't even conceive of your life without it? Perhaps four or five times more, perhaps not even that. How many more times will you watch the full moon rise? Perhaps twenty. And yet it all seems limitless."
"Are you lost?"

I'd also like to preach to anyone and everyone about these guys, The James Cleaver Quintet with their absalutly crazy blend of enchantingly chatchy, bouncing mellodies, with a funk edge, spinning into sudden erratic, crazed punk madness! theyre fabulous live and great people, truely deserving of much, especialy a trial on your ears!

"Looking Through You"

I have taken photos of strangers at random (with their permission) to create a collaged society, showing exterior influences through a mixed medium image, to show how a society stares as a fickle unit of inconsistencies.

Comprising of all, united by none, judgemental of you.

This was displayed at the 'Project 106' building in weymouth from the 20th to the 21st

Rolo Tomassi are an incredable musical spectical and really quite something live too, blending Jazz, Rock, Punk and Hardcore with strange synths and a mixture of  angelicaly smooth and beyond raw vocals through some amazing song writting. Rolo Tomassi are one of the bands that really inspire me within my own music and art, and motivate me whether im working, drawing or painting!

                                                        PLEASE LISTEN TO THESE!!!

Any Help?

Hey, it would be a huge help if anyone could tell me who it was that said this:

"Theres no such thing as art, only artists"

I keep quoting them.... i just cant remember who im quoting..... maybe i should refrain from quoting them.....

This is slightly irrelevalt to the writting above, but im really feeling inspired by Peter Lanyon's work at the moment...

things, just things...

Our end of year show at college went really well, the 'best of' exhibition for all the art courses at Weymouth College goes up on monday, some of my lifedrawing is going to be included which is great! so i thaught id put some up.

Again, these were taken on my phone, so there grainy and off colour, sorry. Hopefully I'll come across some sort of huge pot of gold at the end of a rainbow and be able to afford a half decent camera

Iv also been lending a hand to Hourglass Promotions who are putting on gigs in Weymouth, on wednessday Sepultura played at The Pavillion which was genuinly amazing.

here is there Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/hourglasspromo
and here is the fourum/official website http://www.hourglasspromo.com/

they want to know what bands local people would want to see, so  sign up, and tell them!!!

p.s. these were taken on my phone, so the colours really off, especialy the lighter and darker parts, as these are very emphisised. ill try get some new ones up soon..ish...

My Final Peice For Unit 5

'Unit 5' is a part of my course which is bassed on art history and context. i chose to research the Abstract Expresionists and this painting was response to my research.

cubism inspired photo montage

although this took no where near as much skill or thaught as a cubist painting, the over all effect and process was interesting. i managed to align all the photots in a way that shows the still life from 360 degrees which is very similer to how it was set up but retains the disjointed chaos.

Mint Packaging

here is a mint packet i designd to be completly compostable, im fairly pleased with the results, however i dont enjoy the design side of things as much as i do the art...

and again, sorry for my poor photography skills..

This is the clown costume i made for Halloween in 2010

To make the mask i created a mold from plaster scene, covered it in cling film and then used paper mache to make almost a cast of it that was light weight enough to where. I painted it with acrylics and used a dusting technique to create the smooth, layered colour transitions. This photo was taken on weymouth sea front by my friend Abi Arnold, who is a fantastic photographer and managed to make this image look so ghostly by moveing the camera in circles while taking the photo. The lighting in the back ground is currently being re-designed by an amazing artist from Lous, Vong Phaophanit.
